Hello everyone, I have been unemployed due to the virus, so I will have to use my father as a Co-sponsor on the I-864 form. My wife and I have been living with my father for 3 months now.

My income is now ZERO, but my father makes over $100,000 a year

Both my father and I will be filing the I-864 separately. On the I-864 form that I am filing out, I need help on this part.

Under Person 1: do I list my father?

On questions 20: do I put my fathers income

on question 21:  Do I check the box?

On question 22: Do I leave it blank?

Thanks for your help my friends.

I-864? A K-1 uses an I-134.

Or did you already get a K-1 visa and are doing Adjustment of Status now? I ask because this was posted in the K-1 visa forum.

Each I-864 from a sponsor is separate. Those fields are for a household member with a household member agreement (I-864A), not a joint sponsor.

That's correct, but that's not what I said. I said they are separate. Nothing from yours directly impacts their I-864, and nothing from their I-864 impacts yours.

"Those fields are for a household member with a household member agreement (I-864A), not a joint sponsor." answers the 4 questions asked.

I would use N/A for the name instead of leaving it blank personally (although I doubt it matters here)

For #20, you would enter your total household income by adding the numbers in those fields. Presumably it is $0.

For #21 + #22, they would be unchecked if you are not adding else's income to your I-864 for consideration. (Again, note that a joint sponsor is separate...income/assets do not combine, so a joint sponsor would not be included here).
