FOIA Throwback Question - Juarez, Mexico Visa Interview Soon

Hello wonderful people!

Has anyone had an OBIM FOIA (formally US-VISIT) record labeled "Type: EWI" that was classified as a throwback?  It was recently suggested to me that only OBIM FOIA records labeled "PWAM" (NOT "EWI") were throwbacks. CBP FOIA came back empty.  Hubby's record is from 1999 if that makes any difference.

Thanks :)

I don't know the answer to your question.

However, I recommend submitting the results of your OBIM FOIA with our CBP FOIA request. Specifically, you should include the Encounter ID and FIN ID shown on the OBIM FOIA results. From there, CBP should be able to look you up and give you a "Record of Deportable/Inadmissable Alien" document, which will state a disposition of "Voluntary Return" or "Expedited Removal".

So... I requested my husband's CBP record and got a response in 1 week (totally shocked)... bad news is it is pretty much blank expect for his personal details (name DOB, location/time/date of apprehension). The disposition column just says "OTHER"... what in the world does that mean?

... Guess we will just hope for the best.

Yeah, they usually don't fill out the entire form. Only the important fields. I would definitely check with a lawyer about the disposition type.

Did they assign him an Alien Number (A #) in the CBP FOIA?

Regarding an Alien number - it just says "A" and not followed by anything else.  The "Event No." and "File No." are both redacted.  Super not helpful lol Maybe if he wasn't even assigned an Alien Number back then that is a good thing.

Yeah,  someone mentioned on a forum that they typically assign A # when it is an Expedited Removal. Not sure... it could be just a rumor.

Wishing you the best of luck!
