My mother (who is a part of my household and a dependent on my tax return) petionned for two of my siblings living overseas. Our family size is 6 + the 2 intended immigrants (8 people total). She is filling (2) I-864 (with $0 income) being the petionner, and I am filling an I-864A with 65k (more than enough for 8 people). My question is how do we do the count to reflect a family size of 8 on her I-864. So far I can only come up with 3. There is no family member count on the I 864A.

Family members: My mother, Me, my wife and 3 children.

Thank you & your help is greatly appreciated.

I noticed your two posts with same questions haven’t been answered for a few days so I will attempt to answer it and perhaps @pushbrk or someone else more knowledgeable can correct me if needed.

For your mother’s I-864, I would only add #1 and #2. I would not count #7 as you are would add yourself in the other form and it’s an optional field.

For your form, I would complete I-864 as a joint sponsor instead of I-864A.

Her family size does not include you.  You both file two I=964 forms.  Start there and then ask questions.  You are not combining income with your mother.  You are the joint sponsor for both immigrants.

I am assuming you mean I-864 forms. Is that correct?

Thank you both for you reply,. We were kind of leaning that way; two I-864 for each of the two immigrants -(sponsor & co-sponsor) x 2. It makes more sense than I-864-A since she doesn't have any income to combine with mine.

Thank you very much.

It makes more sense because it's the correct thing to do.  The other way won't work.
