Has anyone got their Case Number recently?

Since COVID, has anyone received their case number from the IVU in London? I got my NOA2 on 13 May and just curious if anyone has been receiving them or has that section not restarted yet?

Congrats on the approval of your I-130 petition. It looks like the Embassy is quoting a 5-week wait time for recently-issued NOA2s until the receipt of a case number so you will probably receive yours in mid June. I wouldn't be surprised if you hear back sooner, but everything is unpredictable at the moment so you can't really say with certainty whether it will be closer to the 5-week mark, or much sooner.

We received our NOA2 on April 3rd, and have still not heard anything from the National Visa Center here in the US, and have not heard anything from the embassy in London. I was able to reach the NVC over the phone and get our case number. but thats about it

Hi, can I ask how you got your case number? Which number did you call? I called the US and they told me because my application is through the US Embassy in London that they couldn’t give me my case number as they don’t have any information on it.

i have a few phone numbers so Ill give them all to you

This was the number I was given for the Department of State (202) 485-7600 , and then they transferred me to the numbers below

NVC Non immigrant visa unit: 1 (603) 334-0888

This is also the NVC but I'm not sure what unit its for: 1 (603) 334-0700

I hope that helps. I had to call a few times to get the right prompts to be able to speak to someone but I didnt have to be put on hold at all. Once i picked the right prompts I was talking to someone within a minute.

Goodluck!

Ok thank you. Are you applying through London too? What did you say to them? Because when I called a number they told me they couldn’t help as I was applying through London 😕

I think some confusion is arising: Gaz1a, you applied for an IR1/CR1 visa via the Direct Consular Filing route (i.e. directly with the London USCIS Field Office). Meanwhile, kingpups has filed an I-129F petition for a fiance visa via USCIS in the United States.

Because you are applying via DCF, the National Visa Center in the US wont be able to give you an update on your case number - this will come directly from the Immigrant Visa Unit at the London US Embassy. Have you tried reaching out to them?

Ah gotcha! Thanks for the clarification.

Ive tried emailing the embassy but I get an automated response. Do you know of a direct number or email for the IVU in London?

There isn't a phone number unfortunately. You can contact them using the contact form on the website: https://uk.usembassy.gov/iv-contact/

I just contacted them and received this reply from this email address LondonInfoUnit@state.gov.

"Thank you for your email.

As explained on our website at https://uk.usembassy.gov/visas111, we are unable to provide guidance about future visa applications or applications that have been in process since before March 20, 2020, at this time. If your question is not answered on that webpage or elsewhere on our website, we ask that you continue to monitor our website for updates, and reply to this message only after normal visa services have resumed. That's frustrating, but I suppose all you/we can do for now is sit tight and wait. I was hoping that normal visa services will have resumed by the middle of this month.

Our i-130 was approved through DCF London 16th March, still not received case number. Will post here when we do.

Everything closed down in London around that time. So it all went full stop. They are finally starting to move again (at least the consulate is) as we just got our I-130 approval letter last week. The letter is quoting 5 weeks to get the packet from IVU. I would hope the IVU is up and running again now and just playing catch up.
