Hello. I have some questions.. Our I129 got approved back in March 30 but neither I or my fiance got any mail regarding that. I was able to find it out by sending email to nvc, is this normal? And I know currently interview schedules are suspended due to covid-19.. Our petition is good thru July 30, when should I extend my petition if we can’t get interview scheduled? Last question!! I make over 70k annual and was wondering what document do I need for affidavit of support? Do I need certain bank balance I need to show or my tax return of more than 70k is sufficient enough? Please help! Thank you in advance :)

Hello. I have some questions.. Our I129 got approved back in March 30 but neither I or my fiance got any mail regarding that. I was able to find it out by sending email to nvc, is this normal? Yes. Some get notified but some do not. The NOA1 is not used for anything so it's not needed.

And I know currently interview schedules are suspended due to covid-19.. Our petition is good thru July 30, when should I extend my petition if we can’t get interview scheduled? The embassies will extend NOA2 dates once they are open.

Last question!! I make over 70k annual and was wondering what document do I need for affidavit of support?

EVIDENCE OF SUPPORT: You must submit any evidence which will show that you and members of your family who will accompany you are not likely to become public charges while in the United States. Visa petitioner (US Citizen) will have to complete form I-134. If the petitioner does not qualify as a sponsor, a Joint-Sponsor should ALSO be presented (any US Citizen living in the US or Legal Permanent Resident), who will also have to complete form I-134. Both, the Sponsor (Petitioner) as well as the Joint-Sponsor, will have to present last year's income tax return transcripts. W2 form and proof of current and sustainable income (e.g. letter of employment on letterhead including salary and start date, most recent salary receipts, bank accounts, the value of properties, etc.). You may download the I-134 affidavit at https://www.uscis.gov/i-134

Get the IRS transcript in place of the actual 1040 here:

https://www.irs.gov/Individuals/Get-Transcript

Use this link to determine the income levels needed https://www.uscis.gov/i-864p

Also, the new requirement from the embassies is to complete the DS-5540. https://eforms.state.gov/Forms/ds5540.PDF

Do I need certain bank balance I need to show or my tax return of more than 70k is sufficient enough? Use the link from above to determine the poverty level for your family size. Please help! Thank you in advance :)

Hope this helps.

This helps a lot! Thank you very much. So I see poverty guideline of household size 2 (myself and my fiancé) is $21,550. So does it mean if I make over that amount, my tax returns and W2s are going to be good enough for supporting doc? I have all employer offer letter and everything showing that.

You are good enough to meet the minimum for the form.    The CO can still not approve it if they believe the beneficiary could become a public charge based on the totality of the circumstances.

Once you file AOS it becomes 125% of the poverty level.

Under = no visa (not strictly with the I-134 but assume this. With the I-864 later, this is strictly enforced as a requirement)

Over = judgement call based on the totality of the circumstances

Unless you are self-employed...

Tax returns show prior income (but still may be requested as evidence). Current income is still king.
