Hello, please affidavit of support part 5 is confusing. My step mom falls in two category, she falls in number 3 and number 7 cause she is a co-sponsor. And we are asked not to count one person twice, how do we go about it?

Let me give you a breakdown of the number of Household:

in states:

1. My dad

2. My step mom

3. 4 siblings

4. Grandma.

intending immigrants

1. One ( just me )

Base on above, how many household size should we put down?

How can we not count step mom twice? She falls under number 3 and 7.

Simple, just do what it says, don’t count twice. She is already counted in 3, so 0 in 7.

Hi Danova,

The household size should reveal the total number of people leaving in your household. It seems that your step mom does not fit in category 7 because she is not a "siblings, parents, or adult children" of the principal sponsor, whom I'm assuming is your dad. Instead she is your dad's wife so I would put her in category 3.

Ok. So where would I indicate her as a co-sponsor, since she’ll be filling form I864A?
