Hi

I have one document left to acquire which is the Certified Criminal Record Check from Canadian RCMP.

My question is this: While police stations are closed Canadians and people living in Toronto i believe can apply online http://www.torontopolice.on.ca/background-checks/. However, how does one complete the application without getting finger prints? Are finger prints absolutely necessary or only necessary if you have a criminal record (which i dont so do i need them?)

If they are necessary i am guessing I have to wait for COVID to be completed before submitting my documents for NVC processing?

Just wondering what other people's thoughts and experiences on this matter are?

You need to get an RCMP check, not one from your local police. Commissionaires is the best place to go, not sure if they're open or not at this time (last I saw someone reported they were closed until April 15th but they might have extended that closure).

The police check does require your fingerprints regardless of if you have a criminal record or not. This thread has a bunch of information:

So i checked the commissionares website and they are accepting criminal record checks online. https://www.commissionaires.ca/en/national/service/individual/electronic-criminal-record-checks

Is this different? I am guessing so because it does not look like they need finger prints and you can get results within the hour.

Sorry for all the questions. Just want to make sure I have my bases covered.

Yeah you cant use this. You need to get the "Privacy Act" one and that one requires fingerprints

Ah fair enough. Thanks again!

Hi! I was wondering if you got your police check and how. Did you just select the "certified criminal record checks with fingerprints" option on the commissionaires website?
