If a question does not apply to you (for example, if you have never been married and the question asks “Provide the name of your current spouse”), type or print “N/A,” unless otherwise directed. If your answer to a question which requires a numeric response is zero or none (for example, “How many children do you have” or “How many times have you departed the United States”), type or print “None,” unless otherwise directed.

We need a little housekeeping on your end. Many of our answers are predicated on the information you supply in your profile. When we look at the left column and can't determine your timeline OR your Embassy it's hard for us to give you a factual answer. Our answers will sometimes be tailored to a specific Embassy hence the reason for you to complete your profile. So do I write N/A in all unused fields? For instance “10a. Other names used” or “42a. Place of insurance “?

Thank you for the guide! 
I did my form exactly like this, but I noticed in this guide there is no “N/A”. And in the instructions it says to use “N/A” for the question if you have never been married use N/A for the name of spouse. I’m confused lol any help would be appreciated, thanks

I would go with N/A as that is what the directions say. Following the official instructions will in most cases never get you denied. Following other examples, especially those you don't know how old they are, or they have been updated can only put you in harm's way. Just my opinion.

I am sure they are not so concerned with blank vs N/A. Having said that there is really no concern here about the two separate ways in completing the form. I just advocate what the governmental agency wants on their forms. If they took the time to include direction, it's the direction that I would use in completing the form. 

 

Your delay is more about the pandemic than N/A. You are still within the period that most are reporting. December is getting approved while we speak.
