Hallo VJ Members,

I wanted to ask, so my fiance just got officially hired on 03/10/2020 in Envoy Air inc, and he supposed to go to Texas for the training classes on 24th March 2020 until 27th March 2020. But, unfortunately he just got notified this morning that all the upcoming training classes are cancelled until the Corona Virus subsided and when that happens they will continue the employment.

He got his first salary later on 03/27/2020 from his new job. He told me,  he will fill the unemployment benefits.

So my question is,

1. Should I wait to apply K-1 visa until the Corona virus subsided and he can back to work again normally? Or just apply now?

2. Is this gonna be affected as public charge?

For your information  : we supposed to send off our K1 visa this week, but because all this happened suddenly so we are dilemma.

Hope hearing your opinion soon.

Thank you and be safe everyone❤

1.  Why wait?  Financial support evidence is not needed for quite a few months.

2.  Unemployment insurance is not taxpayer funded, and it is not considered as part of public charge.

In summary, it took 13 months for approval of the CR-1.  It took 44 months for approval of the I-751.  It took 4 months for approval of the N-400.   It took 172 days from N-400 application to Oath Ceremony.   It took 6 weeks for Passport, then 7 additional weeks for return of wife's Naturalization Certificate..

Thank you for the response.

So,  when I fill up the form on Petitioner Employment History,  for the current job.. Should I write his new job or the job before he got hired on the new one?

If he is still employed, the new one......if he is not currently employed, he has no current job...
