Applying for Global Entry Before Naturalization

Hi Everybody,

I am looking for experiences and knowledge about getting Global Entry as a permanent resident, before applying and getting Naturalization (knowing you will apply and more likely get accepted for Naturalization).

Is there too much trouble then, once you have a US passport, to change it in your Global Entry profile? or how does it work?

Thank you!

GE is tied to passport(s).   If you add a US passport you will need to take it in to be added to your profile.  I have a 10 year US passport but also have had multiple 4 year passports due to needed travel visas for work.   Whenever my 4 year passport expires and I get a new one I have to add it to my goes account.  Last time I didn't need an appointment but I would expect that you might need one to add the first US Passport.  If you go to Canada it is better to get a NEXUS card as it costs half as much and includes entry to Canada along with all the other features of GE.

I'd be OK with getting another appointment, as long as I don't have to pay the fee again as if it was a new application just to add a US passport
