Traveling with naturalization pending

Hello,

 

I have a question regarding traveling during naturalization:

 

I currently have a pending I-751 (based on marriage to USC); my green card has an 18 month extension, and is valid until February of 2021. 

I was planning to file for naturalization in June of this year (based on marriage + the 3 year exception rule). 

 

My question is: does filing N-400 automatically cancel other immigrant petitions for the same petitioner? And if so - would that invalidate my current green card extension letter?

I have an international trip planned for November of 2020, and started wondering which documents I'm going to be able to use to re-enter the US. 

 

Or is there a temporary document allowing to re-enter the US that is issued once N-400 is filed?

No, filing the N400 does not cancel the I751.  The I751 has to be finalized before the N400 can be finalized, but both applications can be active at the same time.  Usually, when the N400 is ready for an interview, your local office will combine it with an I751 interview.  A lot of folks file the N400 with a pending I751, my wife did, and there is a thread that may be helpful.

 

The expired GC and extension letter are still valid even with an N400 pending.

your green card is the document to use until you take the oath ceremoney for N-400. Until that you are a permanent resident . at the oath ceremony you turn in your green card to get your citizen certificate after which your green card is no longer valid

 you are not a citizen until you take the oath ceremony even when n-400 is approved.  surprise that you dont know that. so you are a permanent resident until than. N-400 wont be approved until I-751 is approved or some cases they approve them together.
