Hi Everyone!

 

Is there anyone that have recently submitted their N-400 application online? What have you entered in the "What was your occupation?"? I´m an Engineer, and I can´t find any selection that directly applies to my occupation. Has anyone had that issues with their occupation? What did you end up selecting?

AOS (I-485 + I-130 + I-485 + I-765)

09-26-2014 - NOA for AOS, EAD & AP

10-24-2014 - Biometrics completed

12-09-2014 Received EAD and AP card

12/17/2014 - Interview

12/22/2014 - AOS Approved :dance:

12-xx-2014 GREEN CARD in hand!!!!!!!!!!!!

10-02-2016  - Package Sent by Express Mail 

10-11-2016  - NOA received 

12-09-2016 - Biometrics completed

12-19-2017 - Infopass appointment for I-551 Stamp on Passport

03/19/2018 - I-751 Approved!

04/06/2018 - Received 10 year Green Card with INCORRECT "Resident Since"

FIXING TYPOGRAPHICAL ERROR IN MY 10 YEAR GREEN CARD

04/13/2018 - Submitted online service request about a typographical error on my Permanent Resident Card. 

04/26/2018 - CSC instructed me to send incorrect GC to the CIS Service Center with a request to expedite service due to Admin Error.

05/16/2018 - Received RECALL letter for wrong GC

05/18/2018 - Follow instructions in RECALL letter for people who already returned their GC to CIS. Instructions were to send an email to specific email address. Received answer on 05/26/2018 and mailed on 05/31/2018

06/25/2018 - Received SECOND GC with STILL WRONG DATE. I called the 800 phone number and instructed me to email uscisspecialcases

09/05/2018 - After following up my emails every 3 weeks, and FINALLY getting hold to my an agent, I was instructed to send the SECOND wrong card to CSC.

09/28/2018 - Received FINALLY my correct GC!✌️

04-13-2021 - Notification that approved was added to my USCIS online account

04-14-2021 - Scheduled Oat for 4/29/21.

We just filed my wife's N-400 online. She is in Healthcare, so I wasn't looking for Engineering. I just looked at the Pdf form from the USCIS website, and there is an option to select "Architecture and Engineering." I don't know if that option was available online.

01/05/2020.......Filed N-400 online.

01/07/2020.......I-751 transferred from Texas Service Center to Lee's Summit.

01/31/2020.......Biometrics Appointment.

03/06/2020.......Interview Scheduled 04/16/2020.

06/16/2020.......Interview Rescheduled 07/08/2020

07/08/2020.......Approved

08/20/2020.......Oath Ceremony

Where can I find that PDF?

 

Online option is only "Architectural Occupations". There isn´t an option for Engineering at all.

Just choose the group that I thought was closest. I don't think it makes that much of a difference, if it did, they would have made the options more specific. 

Cateogory: CR1

  • NOA1/Notice of receipt: Sept. 15, 2015
  • NOA2/I130 Approved: February 8, 2016 (NO RFE) :)
  • Process slowed down by us
  • Sent documents to NVC: April 11, 2016
  • Scan date: April 14/ May 7th (NVC said both I dont know why)
  • Case Complete: May 31, 2016 (No checklist) :dancing:

August 17, 2016: Visa Approved!!!! :dancing:

Now I see that if I open the N-400 form and look at it from my computer there is a dropdown with options. I was looking a printed version of the N-400, not directly to the pdf. THANK YOU!

Thank you everyone for your responses. It is always stressful filling these form out. It is being great to have this community!

 

 

The N-400 form PDF in the USCIS website shows the option "Architecture and Engineering", while the online form shows "Architectural Occupations". I think I´m going to move forward with the "Architectural Occupations" and keep a copy of the pictures below, so I can show that I chose that option because it is the most similar from ALL other options to what I do.
