Nearly there... but a couple of visa medical questions

Hi, everyone. And merry Christmas!

Well, after waiting more than 13 years, my wife and I are finally at the stage where we have our embassy interview lined up on Friday January 24. Just the medical to arrange.

Those of you who went through the medical, how many days’ gap did you leave between the medical and your interview? I’ve read 5 days mentioned for the medical results to get to the embassy? So I was thinking of arranging it for one of the days during the week prior to the week of the 24th.

Also, I’ve seen reference to needing a GP’S letter for ‘significant medical conditions’. I take statins for high cholesterol, and my wife has endometriosis but isn’t on medication. Again, has anyone had to provide a letter for these kind of things, or do you think they mean more serious conditions, such as cancer and TB?

Any help much appreciated.

Thanks

You each have a medical?  I would allow at least 10 days. For 2 years the London clinic has been 10-14 days before medical is in your embassy file. They have started sending electronically so could be faster.

Get a doctor letter saying endometriosis was diagnosed (date), how it was treated (or it wasn't treated), and if it will need further treatment or that it poses no problem to her health.

For you when diagnosed. Any data on levels tested with dates,  medication name, dosage, and that your cholesterol is well under control with meds and should continued to be monitored or whatever he wants to say about your prognosis.

Also any surgeries need a report, high blood pressure, depression....conditions like that.

We are prepping / researching as we wait for our petition to get the embassy. It says on the UK gov website the below is needed for the medical exam. To confirm, the Embassy tells US when the interview is, correct? Then schedule the appt at leaset 5 days prior to that interview date? We dont get to choose the interview date?

  • Your visa interview letter (right now our application is in transit, will we get an interview letter sent to my fiance?)

  • Photo identification: passport or driving license,

  • Four (4) recently taken passport-sized color photographs, (UK size correct?)

  • A copy of your immunization records (does my fiance have to go to his local doctor and get this?)

  • Police certificate issued by ACPO (applicants aged 16 years of age and older only),

  • A completed medical questionnaire for each person attending an exam, including babies, https://uk.usembassy.gov/wp-content/uploads/sites/16/2017/05/USA-MEDICAL-QUESTIONNAIRE_IV.pdf - is that the questionnaire?)

  • Referral from general practitioner (GP) regarding any ongoing medical issues or treatments, and

  • All medical and specialist reports relating to the diagnosis and treatment of tuberculosis (TB). - if he doesnt have any of this, we just dont do it?

  • DS-260 Confirmation page. - do they mean DS-160?

Your visa is K1 and your London procedure is different than the OP's FB-4 visa or from spouse visas IR1/CR1. Those visas get an appointment assigned by the NVC.

A K1 will pick their own interview date. The K1 application is DS-160.
