For those who had their EAD expedited. Can you share your experience?

I heard that you need a job offer to get the EAD expedited. Was there anything else you had to provide? Do you have to state financial hardship to even be considered for an EAD expedite?

I look forward to your response. Thanks for your time.

How long have you been waiting? We sent i765 on aug 7 and she has her work card in hand since december 13 without expidite even though wait time said 5.5-7 months.

We're not married yet. We just got approved for our K1 last week. I just wanna make sure I have all my ducks in a row before we file for AOS.

4 month wait time for EAD typically isn't the norm. Glad it worked out well for you guys.

4 months for the EAD has been the norm for a while now. This is the caveat of the K1 visa. This is why so many people who have been through the process realize the K1 is the inferior visa compared to the spousal visa. You are too limited with the K1 and are almost trapped without not authorizing to work, travel, or even obtain a drivers license for months.

Yes, you can ask for expedite but it usually requires a job offer and even then there is no guarantee. Hopefully it doesn’t take too long but a few months wait is something you should be prepared for regardless.

Are you sure about that? Because on USCIS website and the VJ timeline it still says 5-7 months for EAD. And that seems to be the common consensus here among many discussions in the forums.

Not saying that you are wrong. But where's the data that suggests it's taking 4 months now? And if 4 months has been the norm for a while, then perhaps the VJ moderators should edit the timeline so that people who haven't filed AOS yet will not be misled
