I am a US citizen living in the US and I have an approved K1Visa for my fiancé who lives in Montreal Canada.  Our case has been sent to the embassy in Montreal and we got this email attached.

What are my next steps? When will I get to complete my D-160 application? Should I be expecting a letter or an email next?

Also,

Last year I worked for 4 months and filed taxes but it wasn’t a lot of money and won’t meet the requirements. I got a new job and I have been working there for 8 months now and my salary will meet the requirements when I file taxes for this year.  So I’m wondering if the embassy asks for financial documents to be submitted online with the DS-160 or will they ask for the financial documents only at the time of the interview? I want to know if I should start looking for a co-sponsor now or don’t  get one because by the time of my interview I would have filed my taxes for this year.

Also if we need a sponsor I was thinking of having my fiancé’s brother who also lives in the USA to be our co-sponsor. My fiancé’s brother is also listed as the co-sponsor for my fiancé on another application he has pending. Will that be an issue? We didn’t withdraw his other case because if the K1 doesn’t work atleast he has another chance with that one?

We weren't required to submit financial documents when we filed the D-160. they asked us to bring them to the interview. They also asked to bring supporting documents such as W2, Tax transcript, pay stubs, etc. Hope that helps. This is for the consulate in Italy of course. Not sure how it works for Guinea as it seems that things work differently form one consulate to another. Best of Luck

if you make enough now, take all your paystubs and a letter from your employer confirming your employment and annual pay to the interview.

For AOS you will likely need the same since its unlikely you will have had an entire (tax) year with the new job/pay.

You can get a co sponsor lined up just in case if it makes you feel better
