Waiting for NVC response

Does anyone know how long it takes for the NVC to respond via email?  We received our 2nd NOA 5 weeks ago now.  I sent an email a week ago and have heard nothing and calling their number isn’t getting anywhere.  Any suggestions?

NVC is saying it takes 6-8 weeks. You’re within normal processing time. Be patient.

i have sent the first email to them 5 weeks ago like you to give them my email address to add to our file, and another a week later to request being assigned a certain embassy. as of yesterday my email address still hasn't been added to the file, and i have been assigned the wrong embassy. however i got conflicting explanations about what happens to the emails i sent when calling them on the phone. one lady told me they would be worked through in time and added to the file if it still remained at nvc, but yesterday another lady told me the emails were sent too early. as they wouldn't yet have received our file at the time they would have deleted the emails immediately. no idea which answer is correct and no chance to do anything over the phone apparently, so i guess all we can do is wait and see what happens? and keep an eye on the ceac status of course.
