DV2019 winner but still waiting for SSN after arriving in the US

Hello everyone,

I'm a DV2019 winner and successfully passed the interview. Subsequently, I arrived in the US at the end of August. However, I haven't yet received the Social Security Card even though I checked the item "if you want to provide your personal information to apply for a social security card?". It's almost a month since I have arrived in the US. I asked the Social Security Administration(SSA) by phone but they replied my case doesn't exist in the system.

Should I visit a nearby SSA and apply for my Social Security Card instead of just waiting ineffectively? Does anyone encounter similar situations like what I am facing?  Thank you

Depends on the office - you can ask when you are in there. Sometimes they will tell you the number and sometimes not, from past reports.

Re your other thread, curious why you didn’t just add your wife to your DV case? That would have been easier, cheaper and faster all round.

No uncommon. Go to the SSA office with your passport

Due to I didn't get married before the interview and my case number was on the margin of not be able to interview by the end of September, I decided to apply for myself in case both of us failing to get an interview at the same time.

Now I'm still live in my country, Taiwan. Can I visit the Social Security Administration in Guam where is the nearest SSA from Taiwan and apply for a social security card?

Besides, can I leave an US address, Plano in Texas, where I''ll live over there, on the SSN application Form and require the SSA in Guam to file my social security card to that address?
