Lost EAD two weeks before green card interview

Yesterday I lost my wallet and along with it my EAD. My interview for a 2 year GC is scheduled for September 10th.

 

1. should I file form I-765 for a replacement card and will it arrive in time?

2. am I required to pay the $410 filing fee for form I-765?

 

The USCIS website has a fee calculator which says that a fee is not required in this situation (replacement under c(9) category), but form I-765 instructions say the exact opposite, obviously one of these is wrong.

 

The interview notice letter says I should bring my EAD with me if I have one, but I don't want to pay $410 for a replacement just to give it back to them in two weeks, so I am wondering if its possible to go to my interview and just let them know that I lost my EAD.

TLDR; is a lost EAD grounds for denial in my green card interview?

No fee for a replacement when filed due to a pending I-485.

Your EAD has no bearing on your I-485's adjudication.

I'd just wait and hopefully if your interview goes well and you get the GC, then you have no need for the EAD. Hopefully you don't go into AP

Immigration journey is not: fast, for the faint at heart, easy, cheap, for the impatient nor right away. If more than 50% of this applies to you, best get off the bus.

No AP for AOS...that's a consular processing thing.

But they can issue an RFE or just not make a decision yet.
