DS11 Renew US Child Passport while in Thailand

Hello, My son's US passport (He will be 5 yea's old at this time) will expire in February 2020, how difficult is it too renew while we are in Thailand?

I'm trying to save the expense of flying back to the US to do this. Any help would be great.

See attached link to the BKK embassy website. It seems like a pretty simple process. Biggest issue is getting to Bangkok if you're not already there..

Trip to the nearest consulate or embassy, appt with ACS, follow the instructions.  We lived outside the US for 8 years, two kiddos, had to renew a couple of times.
