(CR-1) My husband has been in the states since 7/5/19 (still waiting for his permanent resident  card) he’s been to the US before on an H2B visa already has a SSN & card. Does he still have to wait for his permanent resident card to work and get his drivers license or can he use his SSN & card that he already has?

To answer your question, yes he can get a driver's license with his SSN and the CR1 visa in his passport.

Not true,  He has his SSN and work permit from H2B status, so he is updating his change of status with SSA.  That is different than K-1 versus CR-1/IR-1.

I’m going from OP’s profile.

Attitude much?

When the timeline says K1 and post says CR1 the answers are different however in practical use ANY SS card no matter what it says combined with one other immigration document is good for DL and/or employment.
