Traveling while in the process of removing conditions

I submitted the paperwork to have my conditions removed about year and a half ago. At the end of May of this year, I received a letter requesting to attend a Biometrics appointment on June 4th, which I did. However, it makes me nervous not knowing yet whether they are going to be requesting for me to attend an interview or not since I will be traveling next week to my home country to visit family and friends. This trip was planned way before getting the biometrics letter and so far they keep emailing me that they are still reviewing my case and that they have no updates yet. Should I stay, should I go? any suggestions?

As long as you have the extension letter that covers the period of the trip or a new I-551 you should be good to go.

Go on your trip, but keep in mind that you may have to come back for the interview sooner than expected. Will you have someone able to get your mail, in case you get the appointment notice? I would suggest that you not try to reschedule your ROC interview, if indeed you are scheduled for one. Lately, the appointment minions at ASC in Alexandria, Virginia seem to not take kindly to the notion of rescheduling of appointments. It seems that, at this time, there are many Field Offices that simply do not have any appointment openings. You may find that a rescheduled appointment may be even less amenable to your schedule.

Good luck on your immigration journey.
