Hi all, 

 

Last summers 2018, I applied for USA visa along with my family, and we got our visa's approved. However, i got only a 2 month single entry visa and my family got 5 years multiple entry visas. In the end of interview the counselor officer also mentioned that they would give me a permanent visa next time i apply

In order, to claim my visa i had to travel alone, as it was not possible for my family to travel along due to some other issues. I made a 15 days trip to USA last summers.

 This summers, i again applied for USA visa for 5 years, and the interviewer (counselor officer) just asked me 2 question about why i want to travel and who i will travel with, and after that he kept my passport and gave me a blue slip i.e, administrative processing 221 (g), and asked me to email them  the details required. 

 

I received an email from the US embassy Karachi, the same day after my interview and i emailed them the required details. 

 

Can i know why this has happened with me and what is the further process?

AP is an open ended process. It covers all necessary actions after the interview. It could take days, weeks, months, or even years.

You mentioned Karachi. Extended AP for background checks is not uncommon with Pakistan. Again, there is no way to know exactly what triggers this in any particular case.

 

What type of details did they request to be emailed? Was it about your travel history, relatives, addresses, social media accounts, employment history, etc.? If so, it sounds like a DS-5535 (although I've heard it's not always labeled as such).

 

There is no further action at this time. Just waiting.
