I entered the US on a K-1 visa in March, and filed my AOS/ EAD/ AP last month (after getting married in April) with an NOA1 date for all three of 24 May. The USCIS office address listed on all three is the National Benefits Center. Is this where the forms will be processed or will they be passed onto one of the other service centres? I'm asking because the current processing time for EAD at the NBC is 6.5 to 8.5 months whereas it's between 3 to 5 months at the other service centres. I'm already going stir crazy not being able to work - and the thought that it could potentially take another three months longer to get permission than I'd been planning for is stressing me out.

Also, how soon can I expect a biometrics appointment? I've read that it's within 60 days of filing, but I've also seen that some people have had theirs earlier than that.

Thanks.

Bio appt: usually a month.

All K1 EADs and APs are processed at the NBC entirely. It is taking 6.5 to 8.5 months currently.

Thanks.

The processing times really aren't encouraging at all. When I was going through the K-1 process I was working on the basis that it would take  three months to get permission to work...If only! Thankfully my husband is willing and able to support me financially until I get that permission, but it's extremely frustrating in the meantime. I'm looking to do some volunteer work, which will at least keep me occupied and out of the apartment, but it's not the same as earning my own money.

I understand all you are saying my fiance is getting frustrated too just sitting at home..... He will be here one month tomorrow and we just received SSN card over the weekend. WE are going for his state ID tomorrow.... I just want him to feel like the process is moving. we will get married next month and file AOS then.... I hope these processing times start moving quicker

Good luck! At least your fiance got his SSN card quicker than I did - mine took two months to come through. I too hope the processing times speed up, but I fear they won't. From what I understand the Trump administration is trying to limit legal (as well as illegal) immigration, which means going through all applications very thoroughly looking for reasons to reject someone. This all takes time, and without extra USCIS staff it means everything is taking longer and longer... 😤

Thank you! Good luck to you too! and I am so over the administration and all their shenanigans :( I will keep hoping that things will speed up..... We waited 2 weeks after his arrival to file for SSN card and it came within one week of us filing for it.....
