NOT marriage license. There is a difference.

Marriage license - license to get married. Does not prove you are married because it is unsigned by an officiant (judge, notary, minister, etc.)

Marriage certificate - legal proof of marriage. Signed by two individuals who are marrying and an officiant (sometimes also signed by a witness).

If you merely send the marriage license, prepare for RFE or DENIAL.

Everything we sent was copies, except birth certificate notary certified translation, what I did already in my home country, and copy or original, and certified marriage certificate, what we got from court house here.

In AOS cover letter we wrote in end : "Copies of documents submitted are exact photocopies of unaltered documents and I understand that I may be required to submit original documents to and Immigration officer at a later date." We will take original package to interview tough.

Your original marriage license is your precious thing to keep. You can get certified marriage statements from your court house as many you need and send them, as long you don't mind to pay 15 $ for each. Better take two. One to send for AOS, another take with you when you travel abroad. Our original stands in very special place in very special covers, just for us.

so taurean and Bora Bora were both incorrect to send their licence?

I meant to say "certificate" sorry for the error. We got the "license" first and after the ceremony the license was signed and certified by the clerk right then and there. So in effect we did send in our license which became our certificate of marriage.
