Hi what does it mean when I sent out the i130 application with a return receipt , got a message from uscis saying case was received receipt number xxxxxxxxxx official receipt notice (i797) will follow by mail, but the return tracking number was shipped  and keeps updating  does that mean my package was returned??

It means that USCIS has the petition and your return receipt in bounding around the USPS.

The first three letters of your receipt number are the identifying letters for the service center that is adjudicating your petition. It has been received and is on its way to whichever service center it has been allocated to.
