nope, thought he did a good job as governor.. i have a working realtionship with one of hios companies, and there is some issues i find unprofessional..enuff said

hmmm, a politician who isn't entirely on the up and up. what else is new...

i guess it takes a certain type of personality to want to be president. probably not the kind of personality most people would want to invite over for a beer, no matter what cnn says...

More likely the type of people who would invite themselves over for a beer.

Thompson has a strong presence, whether you like him or not. His natural acting ability will go a long way - it worked for Reagan.

When will people realize that the President is a figurehead, driven by the administration? Bush, for example, has a Bush I, administration. He is doing things his father could not get accomplished.

Sad for us really.... Let's not do that again, ok?

I really don't know enough about him to decide one way or another. I want a strong conservative president, but at the same time I want one that will listen to the advice of others and not go off half cocked. Yeah, I am talking about Bush. I agree it is time for a change. This immigration sh!t finally shot it with me and Bush.

If elected, Thompson will break one record--Lincoln's for tallest president (Lincoln was 6'4", Thompson is 6'6").

 He hardly qualifies as conservative. Where does he stand on the immigration bill? Didn't he vote for it?

This is why we haven't elected a senator president since 1960. Their voting records always work against them; it's so easy to paint them as bleeding heart liberal or hawkish conservative; that's a problem with candidates throughout the legislative branch. State-level executive branchers, i.e. governors, do a lot better because it's harder to pin them down with recent Congressional voting records.

This is why Thompson can't win, and it's probably why Hilary will lose if she runs against Giuliani or Romney, ex-mayor and ex-governor respectively. I'm not taking Obama very seriously at this point.

Even though I disagree with some of his positions I am leaning towards Guiliani. I respect his strength that he showed after 9/11. I have to do more research before I make up my mind. Clinton has a strong following but those people would vote for her regardless of her positions. It's more of a Clinton love affair than politics.

Giuliani is the most liberal Republican in the pack; I thought you wanted a conservative?

Clinton will have to earn my vote; she's not getting it automatically. If it comes down to Clinton v Giuliani, I'll probably write in 'Mickey Mouse'.

No, McCain is the most liberal. The campaign finance reform he did with Fiengold and his support of the immigration bill show that. He is a RINO and I have no respect for him. I don't know about Romney. I haven't paid much attention to him.

Guiliani did wonders for NYC. He pulled that city out of the sewer and because of that he has earned my attention.

So, can I write in "Cyril Sneer", then?

(oops, forgot--has to be American born in US, and Sneer was created for CBC; guess I'll have to settle for "Sylvester Cat" then)

I disagree about McCain; he's definitely more of a social conservative than Giuliani is, and I supported the campaign finance reform and I don't see how his support of it makes him a liberal. I also do not see how his support of the immigration bill makes him a liberal; many Republicans support it and many Democrats object to it; both parties are split.

You can't give Giuliani too much credit for NYC's reversal of fortunes. Sure, he did a lot of good but he gets credit for slashing the city's crime rate due to his zero-tolerance policies when the rate of reduction decreased after he took office; crime was falling faster BEFORE he became mayor.

Immigration, the NAU, and the mess he's made of Iraq did it for me with Bush. I'll give Thompson a look; there's no way I'm voting for a Dem.
