A friend of a friend of ours mailed a packet to USCIS and it was not received by them.  She now can't find the receipt with the tracking number, and this will really affect her case.  Does anyone know if there is a way to track this packet or in any way prove it was sent?

Please don't shoot the messenger!!  I would have kept everything in a safe place, but apparently she didn't. Has anyone successfully done this?  I'm not sure if a fee was involved (so she can look for the cashed check) or exactly what she applied for-possibly asylum.

Any ideas?

Thanks

She could try to go back the USPS, and try to get a duplicate receipt (long-shot).  You should get your NOA1 from USCIS indicating that they received your packet. Otherwise, will have to wait until USCIS starts processing the petition and tenders the check for payment.

Good luck.
