I seem to be having the worst luck with this 751 form, it's been insane.

My husband's PR card expires on 4/24/19. I filed the first time back on 3/02/2019, rejection notice due to forgetting to put one number in the Alien number was lost in the mail. Found out about the rejection notice being lost on 3/28/2019 when I called USCIS. I sent in ANOTHER form with all of our supporting docs and a credit card authorization form.. and then our credit card was declined because our credit card company said they thought it was fraud so they blocked it. Called CC company, called USCIS - USCIS told me they run the card twice and would again the next day. Naturally, a few days later on 4/8/2019 I received the rejection notice due to the credit card declining.

Sent in the form AGAIN on the same day, 4/8/2019 with two credit card forms with notes on them saying primary, secondary. Called both credit cards and told them the exact amounts going through and to NOT block them if they do. Now.. it's lost in the mail. It shows the documents arriving on 4/9/2019 in Dallas,TX and then says "In Transit, Arriving Late" on 4/10/19. So now I am gathering all of the documents AGAIN, going to call on Monday and ask if they have received the documents and hopefully give them the tracking. I'm going to send the documents again if they have not received them, but I'm getting really worried.

My husband has a very high paying job here in the states and we cannot afford him to lose this job. Will we be tacked for filing late if our documents show up right on time? Does it count if it shows we've been trying to file and have just been having the worst luck? What should we do? Can we visit the USCIS office here in Indianapolis and file the documents due to extenuating circumstances? Any help would be helpful, or just tell me I'm being crazy and I need to calm down haha!

Thank you in advance to any replies and helpful advice!

The documents have to be filed at the lockbox. You can't do it at a field office.

Nobody's going to lose a job here...he remains authorized to work even if the form is technically received late. He probably lacks evidence of his work authorization this in case they ask for it (unless he has an unrestricted SS card + a valid state ID or driver's license), but he will be getting an extension letter in the mail after acceptance and that will do fine.

The only real item to watch out for is that if the form is received late (after 4/24/19), then it might be rejected again as a letter explaining why it is being filed late is necessary (your circumstances should not be an issue for that either).

But you've got plenty of time for that...an in-transit package now should arrive well before 4/24. They use the date received, not the date that they actually put it into the system.

Hi Geowrian!

Thank you very much for this reply - this calms my nerves just a bit. I'll just keep an eye on the tracking and call them Monday if nothing updates. I appreciate your time!

Just note that a lot of times, they'll simply tell you it isn't in the system until they process the check. From the time it's signed for to the time it is processed by a person, USCIS will usually say that they don't have it/it's not in the data base. Example is how I sent it out mid-May of last year, and it was signed for on May 10th but the received date is June 7th. Between May 10th and June 7th, they really had no knowledge that my form was there lol.
