Will "illness" help speed up the interview appointment?

My spouse has been diagnosed with some serious illness and has made appointment with a hospital in the US for tratment. I'm gathering my docs for the final interview (DCF)after my I-130's approved. Should I inform them about the matter in the same time fax them with a letter of appointment I've got fromt he hospital in the States? Will "telling them" help speed up the interview or in the contrary "kill the approval of visa". I'm afraid they might think that my spouse will not live long enough to support me because of the name of the decease (No HIV) nope, nope. Thanks in advance for your advices.

I think you might be in the wrong forum...this is for Adjustment of Status (I-485). Maybe I'm incorrect though...

You could try to email or call the Embassy/Consulate and request an early interview appointment due to medical emergencies. The best thing is to communicate and be open with the Embassy/Consulate in this matter.

Call the Consulate asap and mention medical emergency. Does that mean they will put you at the top of their list? Doubtful - since apparently you just filed I-130 and they are not known for making exceptions. But you never know - Hope your wife gets better - our prayers are with you both.

You can always try. I don't know why they would be concerned about your spouse's ability to support you. You are the one who must give evidence you can support your spouse. This is another time where profile and timeline information is critical. Can your spouse travel to the US on another visa category for medical treatment? You don't mention the country you're in now.

I have friends who obtained an early tourist visa for a spouse to join her husband early because the USC spouse had a medical emergency in her country while visiting her and I've heard of foreigners being granted visas to seek medical treatment in the US but have not heard of this for foreigner who has immigrant intent.

I would go directly to the Embassy yourself and inquire.
