My husband is from Mexico and had his interview in Ciudad Juarez Mexico in March 21, 2018.  He was given the 221g slip along with the DS5535 to fill and send with passport.  A month later, he received his passport with a letter stating that he was under administrative processing.  Now it has been 13 months and no answer yet.  I have called, emailed, and contacted senators but their answer is the same...just wait.....

Yesterday, I was given this information by a facebook follower... she said I can contact US Department of Homeland Security in Washington DC and fill out a DHS7001 so they can inquire about my case.... Have anyone done this?  Do you know if is possible to do it? I spoke to someone in DHS on the phone and he told me that the first step was to fill out that form to get help from them... It asks you for receipt numbers from USCIS, but not for case numbers.... have anyone done this?

Well, it's not gonna do you any good, because the administrative processing is with the State Department. There is no way to know when or how long it takes under administrative processing. You just have to wait.

You can contact them but all they will say is to wait for the security checks to be completed

it is taking more than a year to do follow thru with these ds5535 security checks

there is a post here in Off Topics of people going thru this process / also a facebook page

BTW it is best not to use that passport to travel outside Mexico at this time as it will only lengthen the time needed to check the new ports of call

Now it is just wait and pray

You can google your husband's name and see it says Homeland Security has been given the task of checking out the ds5535 but they do not have to give out any information to you / it is confidential and private

your answers will come from the embassy when the process is complete
