Case number assigned to WRONG embassy!

Hello VJers,

I have read many posts about how people treated on such situations similar to mine.

My case is still at NVC but it as assigned to Guangzhou, China instead of Seoul, Korea.

I was able to get a call from the nvc and they told me to email the proof of residency to them but will be unlikely for them to give me a new case number.

I have heard that even if I email the proof of residency to nvc, they wont see my email on time and unfortunately will still send the case to the wrong embassy.

My question is, is there anyone out there who is a South Korean that had similar experience to mine?? If there is, did you email the Seoul embassy to ask for a transfer? How fast was the whole procedure to get transferred?

And is there anyone who were successful in getting a new case number after emailing proof of residency?

Hi Jo,

I know this has happened before and here are some links for reference (note that some of these posts are old, so don't respond to them, just browse for info). I'm adding 3 samples bellow, but you can search for more by putting Wrong Embassy on the search bar (top right corner of the board).
