Hi, I (beneficiary) am Korean and we just found out our case will be sent to wrong embassy, not SEOUL. Our case is at NVC right now. :( How did you manage to transfer your case from guangzhou to seoul within a week? Did you contact to NVC or US embassy in Seoul? I'm so frustrated... Please advise us!! Thank you.

Hello :) you need to send an email to the u.s. embassy in Seoul and tell them your case will be sent to the wrong embassy and that you are requesting a case transfer to Seoul. Once they get your email they will reply to you with an attached document for you to sign, agreeing for case transfer and that you are responsible for any problems that might occur during the process. After you send them the signed document, the u.s. embassy in seoul will officially send a request of file transfer to the embassy that NVC sent to. For me, Guangzhou embassy replied quickly so it only took a week for the whole transfer. It really depends on when the embassy replies. Let me know if you have other questions!

Hi!! Thank’s for quick reply.. really appreciated! I found out I need to send a request by submitting DS3098 (I think this is the attached document what you’re talking about) form by email to the intended embassy. Do I just contact Seoul embassy first? Which email did you use if I may ask? (Us it SeoulNIVCaseSpecific@state.gov.? There few email addresses on website. i don’t know whom to send:( ) AND did you send a email when your case was at NVC? Sorry I have too many questions... 혹시 다른 곳으로 연락드려도되나요? 너무 절박한 상황이네요☹️ ....

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.

** Not all cases are transfered
