Adjustment of Status (AOS) and Affidavit of Support

Hi I read a rumor that adjustment of status for China is x5. I took a new job that pays more but there is a transition with certain bonuses that puts me on a cusp of being over vs not being over the x5 the poverty income and I was just curious if the AOS is actually x5 the poverty level or is it just the poverty level of lets say 16,000 for my particular state?

Any answer or clarification of Adjustment of Status income requirements would be great since I may have to get a 2nd sponsor or maybe dip into assets to make sure I am ok.

Which visa are you using? If it's K1 than you need to make at least 125% of the poverty guidelines 2019, which you can find via https://aspe.hhs.gov/poverty-guidelines. Never heard that they make a difference in this rule based on which country the immigrant is from.

Since you read the rumor, please share the link in a comment

For China, it's only 125% of the federal poverty level. The numbers you want to look at are listed here.

Sorry for the short response I'm on my phone right now.

And as C90 said. It's a general standard, and not country based.
