K1 - Case and Invoice number. Scheduling medical and interview

Hello,

I contacted the NVC and for my Case and Invoice number. Can I still book the medical and interview with this info? Or do I need to have the actual letter from the embassy?

Also, how many days apart should I wait to book the medical and interview? Will two days be enough?

Any help would be great.

You can have the medical if you have an email from nvc with the mnl#.  No appointment for slec required. Case status should show ready before booking the interview.

Two days minimum,  three is better.  Early May is soonest available interview

Thanks for your response. But does my fiancé need to bring the actual NVC letter to the interview ? We have the case and invoice number. My plan is to complete the DS160 then try to book the interview in May.

Needs a letter or email response from nvc.  They need to see the name and case number together.   That's why I am not a proponent of calling because in many situations it doesn't do a thing for you.

That’s what I figured. But as far as booking the interview online I should be fine? I would hope that I get the email or letter before May. Thank you!

Actually there have been sporadic reports where the embassy has canceled interviews when an interview is booked before "ready" status.  Again,  this has been sporadic so be guided accordingly

If you have verified your email address with NVC, then the "letter" that slec will want to see will be sent via email on the day the petition ships to the embassy.   If you haven't verified your email with nvc, Google "asknvc" and do it, you will be glad you did

PS. Ditch the invoice number,  for a k1, you don't need it at any point
