As a part of proof of relationship, I saw that we can have the updated 'intent to marry' and that it should be notarized I want to ask if I can have it signed, scan and then send to my fiancee to notarize OR is there a place I can notarize it here in Lagos so that he can just sign, scan and send to me I'll print it sign and notarize it here?

Where did you see that it has to be notarized?

As far as I know, it doesn't have to be.

Notarizing is not necessary.  It doesn't "prove" anything.

I thought so too until someone told me notarizing it was ideal

Many people do not understand what notarizing is.  It is simply a witness to a signature on a document.  That's it.  It doesn't make the document more legal or valid, it simply guarantees that it was signed in someone's presence.

There is no requirement that the letter of intent to marry within 90 days be notarized.
