question about embassy

Pretty decent rant, Thomas.

I think the U.S. would be the type of country that would feed the dragon so much it would block the opening to the cave. (Old Chinese story.)

If you wanna rant about some nice laws passed, how about the Patriot Act? Anything to say about that one?

If the government is going to force me to exercise my "right" to health care, then they better start requiring people to exercise their Right to Bear Arms. - "Where's my public option rifle?"

We were in the ditch after the fourth or fifth post.

I've always thought... "if all govt. employees would resign in protest.... there'd be no government left."

This may be more amusement than accuracy.

Early last year, in 2006, Peter Miami posted his method of tracking via DHL. There were some who tried it.

Here's a link to one of the posts: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.ph...hl=DHL+Tracking

The posts were in the National Visa Center (Dept of State) Forum.

He responded to a similar question of tracking:

"Follow my instructions on The Foreign Embassy and Consulate General Discussion section."

This was Mar 2 2006, 11:29 PM.

Well my feelings on the patriot act are pretty simple, the patriot act came about because we didnt listen to our intelligence or have any forthought prior to 9/11 that someone who really doesnt like our foreign policy would attack us so instead of spying on people in other countries the wise people in the white house and congress decided it would be a whole lot easier if we gave free reign to the folks at the NSA to spy on people in this country.

Amendment #4

The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized.

This includes intellectual property and if I remember my civics correctly I do believe we have a right to free speech. I could go on but then its just my opinion.

Sorry Novotul this is the Russian forum where it is our born right to get off the path, run around in the woods, take a dip in the lake, have a picnic, fly a kite, and then get back on the path and take it home. My wife thought this was very confusing until she started talking to my sisters and found out that all our family conversations work this way too.

I've asked people who "support the patriot act" what they think about the 4th Amendment and most of them say "the what?"

Yes, I think it is very respectable - the right for privacy and things like that. But I also think it is respectable for a strong country to try to protect its strength by all means possible from anything that can endanger this strength.

Yeah... They must have changed the reference code... they seem to use form numbers as the reference code... try I-129F for a single day and you'll see many shipments between service centers i.e. TX to CA etc...

We need to figure out what code they are using for the NVC > MOS deliveries.

Try different form numbers... several years ago it worked for I-730 and that form seems to have no relation to K-1 visa applications. So, maybe there is no rhyme or reason to it. May just be random.

When people consider it correct and a good thing to take away our liberties I think the days on those liberties are numbered.

I am older than many of you and if I think back to how many of our liberties have been lost while I have been here I think the rest will go in another lifetime or so.

Change is a good thing, an intelligent society needs to evolve and grow. Unfortunately the US seems to be in a devolving cycle right now. Perhaps we will have another renaissance. The good thing about what the original framers set out to do is make a flexible legal system that can grow and change with a society. I would like the government, fed, state and local to remember who it is they work for. I am reminded of something someone wrote down once......

A government by the people, for the people and of the people.

Its sunday morning and Im not going to rant and rail.

America is going to be a completely different country in 50 years. China and India will dominate the world economy and America's reach as a global super power will not be as strong. Our influence will cease to be so influential. Couple that with the changing ethnic make up (more Spanish-speakers than English) and in effect, the country will seem not like the America it is today, but a different nation entirely.

We have the ability to adapt to the changing global environment and hold our position at the top. However, things like the Patriot Act are not placing us on a course to overcome these challenges, moreover, they're aligning us with our own demise. And hastening the process!

For long US has been dominant in technology and technical innovation - man on the moon, semiconductors, microprocessors etc etc, you name it. With India and China catching up, this technology gap is closing in and US no longer is as dominant.

US needs to find a new gig, something, some area where it can lead again - possibly finance !

I was just generalizing... Nobody is going to ask a lowlife of an immigrant like meself on the matters of Patriotic Act anyways, so it's for you, citizens, to decide if it's good or bad.
