Embarking on the brutal AoS process from TN to PERM after getting married to my amazing Love.  We filed in late January (2019) through our Attorney, delivered to the Chicago Lockbox.

I am completely aware that this is only about week 2 awaiting a Receipt number, but I’m wondering if anyone out there has experienced any kind of delay in just the Receipt issuance step recently?

Our Attorney originally stated we’d have our Receipt number within 1-2 weeks of USCIS receiving our application package (which we have confirmation that delivery was made), but now our Attorney is indicating there will likely be a delay of a “couple of weeks longer”.

Thank you in advance for your Receipt issuance feedback.

Hi there!

Thanks for the response.  Definitely hoping for the “2 weeks”; definitely not looking forward to the potential of 30 days - yikes!

Good question on the payment confirmation, however, since our Attorney is handling our case, all required fees were funded to the Attorney prior to filing for them to handle remittance.  But, that does give me a reason to check with them to see if they have seen the payment go through on their end.  Good suggestion!  Thank you for your quick response!  Take care!!

Always prepare for the long wait, and be happy with a shorter one.  JMHO when it comes to immigration.

Ain't that the truth.  Ugh!

Will try to keep a level-head.  Interesting to hear from others who filed around the same time or even after, and have already received their notices, texts/emails.  Has me wondering...

Oh well...like you said... :)

Where are you located? I know that in my case, a lot of NYC filers have gotten stuck in post-biometrics, pre-ready-to-be-scheduled hell for months, and yet I still torture myself by checking the case tracker and mail religiously. Of course, I let myself get optimistic when everything was happening in the beginning! And I'm still early in the process.

In it for the long haul

Hooray!! You spoke it into existence ;)

Definitely a good idea to keep your official VJ timeline updated so that you can get some slightly more accurate approval estimates!
