Hello and good day,

 

Here's my situation:

I have overstayed my waiver tourist visa (I am french) over 1 year 1/2 eleven years ago, I am back in France since those 11 years. (I know it's very bad...)

 

Since then I have a PHD in astrophysics and I would like to know if I found a job can I apply for a work visa or my overstaying time will make it impossible ?

from my understanding the place you want to work has to apply for the visa.

you had a 10 year ban, but it is over since that was 11 years ago, as stated, you can't apply for a work visa

 

but you can try to find an employer who would be willing to hire you and file a work visa
