IB-1 / IB-6 would be the codes for Self-petition spouse of a US citizen

Now I'm confused....lol

Does a cat IB-1-IB-6 mean an approved VAWA petition, rather than an approved ten year GC cat IR6 that I initially filed for ?  Can't figure out why no couples interview for a valid marriage

Vawa/ self petition would get code IB-1 or IB-6. I don't understand the rest of your question, a little too cryptic. I'm sure you'd get more answers on the Vawa thread.

Thanks very much Lemonslice.

PS: I'm staying out of the VAWA megathread for mental health reasons. I'll try to confirm your answer

You'll find all the codes here:

https://www.dhs.gov/immigration-statistics/lawful-permanent-residents/ImmigrantCOA

It doesn't matter though, a permanent resident is a permanent resident.

IB1 would be someone who filed VAWA overseas and then arrived in US and IB6 is for someone who filed VAWA and adjusted status in the US. IR1 is for spouses that did overseas filing and arrived in US and IR6 is for a spouse that filed in US. IF1 is for someone who entered on a K and got a 10yr card for whatever reason... Generally most marriage based AOS gets a joint interview however K applicants that AOS can have their interview waived. Since you are posting anon maybe you can tell us how they entered? Or more information?

Thanks Damara I understood that category info from LS''s last post (above).

K visa.. filed for AOS, the interview was waived, though I didn't request it.  My bad luck, her good fortune.

Typically K visa that does AOS gets a 2yr card unless you didnt file AOS promptly or the AOS takes so long to adjudicate that the marriage is over 2 yrs old when the card is issued. Are you sure there is no ROC for them in the future? Were you separated when AOS was approved? Why didnt you pull your 864? Depending on the specifics you may be able to send something to impact their ability to ROC or naturalize.  You can send me a PM if you do not want to post on the public forum.
