I recently received a NOA2 approved for I-129f. 1) My Filipino fiancé worked in Oman for 9 years. Does she have to obtain an Oman police clearance certificate for her interview in Manila? How long to obtain this and is there advise for the procedure?

2) Will I receive a notice when NVC sends my petition to Manila?

Yes your fiancé is required to attain a police clearance from Oman. Details below.

1 - Yes to the police clearance from Oman   (Greenbaum gave you the link)

2 - No, not exactly.

I would suggest to email NVC requesting your MNL # ..  they will reply to your email usually about the time they are getting ready to ship the case file.

Besides the email (or letter) from NVC is needed for the medical at St. Luke's (SLEC)

Thanks,

She also worked in Dubai for 4 years prior to working in Oman. I read the following on UAE police clearance:

Available: Only if applicant is physically present in the UAE.

https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/Visa-Reciprocity-and-Civil-Documents-by-Country/UnitedArabEmirates.html

Will the US embassy waive the police clearance requirement for Dubai?

Here are some links that should help you. Because there was no courier service where she was living in the Philippines, my wife (at that time my fiancée) and I took turns calling the Royal Oman Police to ask if we could apply online to save time. Finally one of the officials said we could email the application to them. You have to keep calling them on the phone if you want to do it this way.

The other problem was wiring the application fee. ROP will only accept wire transfer (fees are usually much higher than credit card for example). I had to use my Schwab account. I found no other bank that would do the wire transfer to Oman online.

Sorry for the late reply. I’ve been very busy...
