Almost all of us endure being apart from our spouses during this. It’s just part of the process. You can send money to your wife if she needs it.

Timeline in brief:

Married: September 27, 2014

I-130 filed: February 5, 2016

NOA1: February 8, 2016 Nebraska

NOA2: July 21, 2016

Interview: December 6, 2016 London

POE: December 19, 2016 Las Vegas

N-400 filed: September 30, 2019

Interview: March 22, 2021 Seattle

Oath: March 22, 2021 COVID-style same-day oath

This, plus your criminal record and history with US immigration would be the reason for AP, which is quite uncommon among NZ-born applicants in Auckland.

Why were you banned for 5 years? Overstay of less than a year is a 3-year ban. A 5-year ban is given to deportees. Were you deported?

It mean they are working on your case and there is nothing you can  just wait in time loop like me.                             security clearance.Takes time if you are from Middle East.
