My husband and I got hitched. He has a F1-opt and I am a US Citizen. We are not sure what the process is or where to start.

My husband and I also got hitched and he was on F-1 OPT status. I am also the American citizen in the relationship. Ultimately, we just filled out the paperwork and gathered the information together. We used the forms I-130, I-130 A, I-485, I-864, I-765 and I-131 and later the I-693 for the AOS process. You can type these into google and it will take you directly to the USCIS website. The website is very helpful, so read as much as you can. Also, all instructions are provided for each document, (definitely READ EVERYTHING) and if you ever get stuck or have a question, the kind people of visa journey have been extremely helpful in the process. They have always answered any questions I have had.

Our most recent step in the process is my husband received a letter that we are in line to schedule our interview and he has received his EAD/AP Combo card. We are in the process of filling out the I-693. We filed our AOS package on July 31, 2018 and are about 180 days into the process. I hope this information helps in beginning your journey.

Best of luck.
