Hello members,

I have some questions about my SSN. I applied for SSN when I was applying for EAD. Now I got my green card, my EAD application was closed. For many reasons (Bank, Job, Insurance, Tax, etc) I need my SSN. Since the EAD was closed do you think that I'm going to get my SSN? Or do I need to I apply at the Social Security Office? If it is that case, as you know because of the government shutting down, the SS Office is closed, do you guys have any idea about my situation?

Thanks

You can go to the SSA and apply for an SSN there. ETA: ~1-2 weeks for delivery.

SSA is funded through ~Q3 2019. All Indiana offices are open.

I went to the SS office, the agent checked online and USCIS didn't send them my application. I applied  right away for me and my daughter. It was very easy and fast. You need to have with you your GC and passport.
