DV Lottery Adjustment of Status

Hi everyone, 

 

I won the diversity visa lottery and doing AOS in the States. I had my biometrics done on November 15th. When should I expect an interview? Is there anything I could do to speed up the process? Thank you.

Interviews for DV are dependent on the interviewing office. Some schedule them as they come in, and others tend to batch DV cases once they have a few in the books. There are typically only 1000-1500 DV AOS cases a year spread across the country, and while the sunset clause for DV will sometimes get you an interview a couple of months after your case number is current, some FOs take the view that as long as it’s done before fiscal year end it’s fine...so some people wait for a good number of months.

My interview was scheduled for January 30th, but it was now postponed due to bad weather. My case number became current in October.
