K1 visa travel policy

Dont know if I am posting to the right forum or not...you may move it if deem neccesary.

My inquiry is this...once my fiancee and I does receive the k1 visa, she moves here and then we get married...is she allowed to go back to the Philippines at any given time to visit family or does she have to stay here in the United States for 2 years...her Aunt said she has to stay here in the United States for 2 years before she can go back overseas...I am wanting to make sure there is a correct answer to this.

Thank You

She can leave at any time...the issue is getting back in. ;) The K-1 visa is single-use, so that's no longer valid after the first POE.

She can re-enter the US with Advance Parole (AP) or a green card. AP can be filed alongside AOS (it's no extra cost!). ETA: ~4-7 months from filing to approval.

If she has a Green Card then she can travel out of the country but she needs to not be out for any length of time or they will view that as abandoning her status. So most here recommend no longer then 3 months is ideally the yardstick to use.

For other issues dealing with the Philippines you may want to join the sub-forum for the Philippines found here: https://www.visajourney.com/forums/forum/129-philippines/ as you may learn some information specific to the Philippines that you can avail yourself with.

Thank you Geowrian and Greenbaum for answering my question and I'll definitely  check out the sub forum dealing specifically with the philippines.

NP. One more item of housekeeping is to complete your profile. Many of our answers are predicated on the information you supply in your profile. When we look at the left column and can't determine your timeline or your Embassy it's hard for us to give you a factual answer. If you look at the profile of others here, they have a flag for their country, so it makes it easy for us to reply as we can quickly determine your Embassy. Our answers will sometimes be tailored to a specific Embassy hence the reason for you to complete your profile.

So, if you could help yourself out and complete your profile that sure would help us out when we want to reply to your question with factual information.

Go to the top right of this page select your name (it's on the upper right-hand corner)>my profile>[below your picture on the right column] edit my profile. Scroll to the bottom and fill in "Immigration Info". There now we can better serve you.

Thanks
