6 receipt numbers for 3 forms

Can someone please help us understand what’s going on here.

We submitted i485, i130, i765. When they mailed the material back to us due to incorrect fee we received receipt numbers, one per form. Correct payment was submitted promptly in July after which we received new receipt numbers, again one per form.

The old receipt numbers still say ‘incorrect fee’ on the site except for the i765 which seems to no longer be under our names. The new receipt numbers say case has been re-received after correct fee submission, except for the i485 which says ready to be scheduled for an interview.

Based on the above, can someone please tell us
1. what the status of the i765 is? There seem to be 2 receipt numbers applying to 2 different EAD cards, one of which perhaps was only temporarily associated with us.
2. when to expect an update on the i485 interview after the notification was received?
3. what we should do if the EAD card isn’t received by end of Jan (7mo, or 6mo since resubmission) and we can’t get an appointment? Can enquiries on the i765 be made during the gc interview?

2. when to expect an update on the i485 interview after the notification was received?

1. If the new receipt number says "re-received", then that's the one. No point in checking the old one.

2. It will be a while. "Ready to be scheduled" does not mean your interview HAS been scheduled. It just means your file is now in the long long line of files that are pretty much complete and are awaiting for an officer to pick it up and schedule the interview.

3. If you do not receive the EAD, there is no point in asking for it at the GC interview. The EAD is temporary and does not grant you any LPR/immigration status and is basically worthless once you have the GC.
