Read recent threads where people went into AP in Montreal - seems like they were in AP for a few weeks for most countries, some countries of origin much, much longer. And yes it tends to happen to PRs more often than citizens, my guess because it requires further background checks. Where is your fiance originally from? Could play a role. 

I'm having interview soon and I'm permanent resident. My origin of country is from Philippines. I hope it won't take long to us. I'll keep you guys updated here.

Def keep us posted. Again, there is never any telling whether anyone will or won't go into extended AP nor if they do, for how long. Because an often used tactic for high fraud countries is to go to a less fraudulent country and try to apply from there, I assume an applicant's country of origin will always be taken into account, especially if it's high fraud. 

 

Just be prepared at your interview with any school transcripts and a CV if applicable. These are sometimes asked for of non-citizens at Montreal.

So my interview was on the 13th and that same day CEAC site updated to nonimmigrant. I just checked again now, and I'm already in administrative processing. 

Any of you other guys from Wednesday's interview had status changes too? 

Hopefully it changes to Issued soon. 🤞

It was down all yesterday evening and most of today for scheduled maintenance. It was a bit slow loading for me when I checked. I had to refresh and try again and it loaded.

Hey! Yep, mine changed to AP, then it changed to Issued on Friday! I also got the email with the tracking number.  My passport/visa should be in my mailbox by Tuesday!

We are still in "AP"...nerve wrecking experience tbqh. I'm now nervous because Kathanael got hers so quick and i was just after her. :/

Is it normal-ish for some to process immediately from AP to issued and others a day or so later? I cannot remember...

im with you buddy. Been waiting since the march 6th. Are you a canadian citizen? as i speculate, it might that canadian citizens immigrating are getting it quicker but anyone on PR has to wait a bit longer.. but again.. just a speculation.

I am a Canadian citizen. I am sure its just a minor wait before final issuance of the VISA but i cannot remember if we ALL go through this or just some.

Yes, it's something we all go through while they do their final database checks before printing thr visas. It's probably why they tell us 'approximately 2 weeks' to receive our visas while at the interview. 

If there's an issue, then ap can take weeks-months-sometimes years depending.

if they gave us the pink sheet after a 3 min interview and uttered the words 'welcome to the united states' i'm gonna go ahead and assume there is no issue and its just a routine non-canadian check. Years wait seriously sounds scary af.
