Hello everyone,

Question, Im new to this forum, but been reading the forum for months, finally registered, and now for my 1st question.

Once I submit my K1 visa petition, do I need to have copies of my future wife passport. I know I must have copiies of my passport(Im US citizen) Your help would be greatly apprecitated

Timeline

If you have it, then submit it. Be sure it is translated into English. Other's have gotten RFE's for not submitting it along with their petition, although the instructions say it is not required, it is best to send it anyway to avoid any slowdowns.

Don't just open your mouth and prove yourself a fool....put it in writing.

It gets harder the more you know. Because the more you find out, the uglier everything seems.

Nope, All you need is your passport if your using it to prove citizenship (instead of birth certifucate).
Correct :thumbs: The only passport copy that may be needed is the US citizen's in the case that they do not have a copy of birth cert, or naturalization cert to send in with the petition, it is being used to prove US citizenship. Also if you do send in copy of passport for citizenship proof, it has to be all pages including cover.

Foreign passport is not needed to be included, also note: the Biometric page is virtually all passports have the foreign language as well as English nothing to translate.

I was going to say....passports don't need to be translated.

11/2004 - Met in Brazil

09/2006 - Apply for K1

03/2007 - K1 approved

04/2007 - Apply for AOS & EAD

07/2007 - EAD approved

01/2008 - Conditional Residency approved

11/2009 - Apply to remove conditions

02/2010 - Permanent Residency approved

11/2010 - Apply for Citizenship

03/2011 - Citizenship approved

07/2011 - Moved back to Brazil
