Hi,

A medical emergency has happened with my father yesterday and he is in the hospital. MY PD is Jun 29 but still havent received my AP and I would like/need to travel home to see him. How do I go expediting the AP. I am already 4 months into the progress. I am getting a letter faxed to me stating what happened to him and that he is in the hospital. What do I need to do  next?

I was in a similar situation in 2015. Once you get your letter, bring that with 2 passport photos and your case number to your local office. You do not need an info pass you just go there and tell them you need an Emergency Advance Parole and you should get it the same day if they approve it.

Thank you very much , as soon as I get the letter I will try. Did you have to pay a fee for the emergency permit? Do I need to fill out a new I-131 travel document to carry there?

For some reason, I had to pay because they couldn't find my application even though they had my case number. I went there the day after I got my case number. You should not have to pay and they have applications there for you to fill out but yes, if you want to speed things up you can fill one out and bring it. I think it should be the same they use.

I am not familiar with the current I-131 fee, you should find that on the USCIS.gov website. As I said, you shouldn't have to pay for it. I'm pretty sure they messed up when I was there. Good luck!
