hmm..no offense to the fans..but I predict it's out of the theater and on DVD by the third week of July.. :mellow:

Can I hold you to that? Spiderman3 - the first of this summer's blockbusters has broken all records for ticket sales - and that is in spite of the mixed reviews.

Shrek3 will be opening tomorrow and will do well also. Transformers is coming out on the 4th of July - with the theme very similar to another movie that was released on that day, Independence Day - which did well even though it was really not that great of a movie. It's all about entertainment...the summer audience wants eye candy over substance.

Just saw the movie. Surely a contender for the worst movie screenplay ever - I didn't much like Independence Day for that reason, but its Shakespeare next to this!

Even the effects weren't that impressive - seeing as the director can't maintain a camera shot for even 5 seconds, making it almost impossible to follow what's going on without the aid of triple-shot lattes.

THe movie was nice, I enjoyed it, used to watch it as a kid, I remember when the deseptecan started to transform as Dinosores. And Scream always chicken out when the heat gets too hot, ONLY critic of the movie,

I wish they had more fight scenes but the major flaw was with the transformation

It went too fast, I wish they could borrown a little bit from the Japanese movies by slowing down the fight scenes and the transformation.

Gone but not Forgotten!

We are in absolute lock step on this one. I was very disappointed. The previews for this movie give you the impression that it's a little more dark and serious than it really is. They had the right idea for the first 30 minutes then suddenly the movie transformed into a full on kiddie film. This movie is aimed at seven year olds. I realize that it is derived from the cartoon, but I just didn't expect it to actually be just like it.

All of the best scenes are in the previews too.

First hour is a turgid mess of tedious exposition involving the introduction of large numbers of pointless ancillary characters (including Jon Voight) who are on screen for seconds at a time. Crappiest movie I've seen in a long time - I actually felt embarrassed to be watching it.

So far my favorite summer movie is the new Die Hard. As long as you understand that John Mclain is superman the movie is very entertaining.
